| Despite clashing with A
Levels and GCSEs, a record eleven schools made their way to Millfield School's lovely ground. George Pendarves and Dan Banks shared the umpiring while Nick Harrison Sleep kept up a lively
commentary all day. Luckely Oakfield entered a team for the first time and we hope they will be regular entrants in the future. Each year the standard goes up and most of the chukkas were hard fought, the captains giving valuable advice to their teams. The main section finished with a needle match between Cheltenham Ladies' College, the holders of the Millfield Cup and Millfield "A" who were determined to win it for the first time. Mr Peter Johnson, Headmaster of Millfield, was delighted to present the cup to his home team after a fierce battle. The American tournament was also a fierce battle ending with a run-down win for Sherborne. |
