Millfield School 11^th June 2006.

Eighteen teams gathered at Millfield’s lovely Polo ground. This tournament has grown from six teams to the present number despite falling in the middle of GCSE and A Level examinations.

Our sponsors this year were Millfield, and Pout (a well known London cosmetics company). The usual top teams came, but many of the others were fielding new teams, some of whom had never played on grass before. However, encouraged by the commentator, Nick Harrison Sleep, and umpired by Sam Stringer, they put up a splendid performance. There was some hard riding off and valuable experience gained. Our thanks go to headmaster of Millfield, Mr. Peter Johnson, for allowing us to use the school polo ground, and for providing very much appreciated facilities.

The final between Marlborough and Millfield A (the holders of the cup) was fast and furious with first class play on both sides. The final score of 1-0 shows how close it was.
