A new system, a new
sponsor and a great new facility.
The first La Martina University qualifiers ever, took place at Rugby Polo Club in early February this season. The continued growth of Polo in the University section of SUPA (Schools & Universities Polo Association) has meant for the first time that regional qualifiers were played around the country to cull the entries in the Beginner and Novice sections by 50% This has meant an opportunity for It was touch and go, but 18 hour days and a great support team at Rugby Polo Club, the facility was made ready for the first qualifier. A superb Arena with a special polo surface has made Rugby Polo Club one of the foremost facilities in the UK. The Baker family, en mass, have been a great supporter of SUPA and now they have the facility to assist further and to become a very busy centre, both for Schools and Universities. Michael Chevis, the best polo photographer in the country was made welcome to support and launch both the facility and qualifiers in his own photographic style. Michael Hobday - Universities Chairman
