Insurance
As an Affiliated Association of the Hurlingham Polo Association, The Schools and Universities Polo Association provide all SUPA members with 3rd Party Public Liability insurance, the premium for which is charged each year within the membership fee for the period 1st January 2009 to 31st December 2009 both days inclusive. The HPA procures insurance on behalf of Polo Club members.
Public Liability
The members’ public liability insurance is managed through Lycett, Browne-Swinburne & Douglass Ltd. with the International Insurance Company of Hanover Ltd.
• It should be noted that this liability policy only provides indemnity where a member is found legally liable for injury or damage to a third party. Player-to-player liability is specifically excluded
• The indemnity covers defence costs as well as any damages awarded in law
• This policy does not cover Clubs, Coaching for gain or Commercial Polo businesses where separate liability insurance should be arranged
• The policy covers the private and personal liability of the Members of the HPA arising out of the ownership, use or possession of a pony holding an HPA passport or other breed passport over-stamped by the HPA
Limits of Liability
£5,000,000 any one event as defined in the Policy Document in respect of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
€6,500,000 any one Event as defined in the Policy Document in respect of the Republic of Ireland.
Excess
£250 each and every loss in respect of Third Party Property Damage claims including costs and expenses in respect of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man jurisdiction.
€2,000 each and every loss in respect of Third Party Property Damage claims including costs and expenses in respect of Irish jurisdiction.
It is important that you do not admit liability or make any offer or promise of payment without the written consent of the Insurers.

Personal Accident
Personal Accident Insurance is procured on behalf of University Members only and effective from 12th June 2009 and thereafter with University membership renewal.
