The first tournament, sponsored by SAT's, takes place on the 7th March, 2010 at Longdole Polo Club. Entry forms are available to download now.
The tournament is 3 a side, ( off the stick ). All players will play three chukkas, spread throughout the day.
SUPA is aware of certain discrepancies with age limits within the sections. For 2010, this will remain the same as last year, however, SUPA will be looking to amend this for the 2010/2011 academic year. Players must be 13 or under on the 1st January 2010.
Non polo ponies may be played, but as a guidline, SUPA advise a minimum height of 14hh for purely safety reasons. If you need to hire ponies, go to the Universities section of the website and look at the Horse Hire section to find a list of those who meet our standards, as laid down by SUPA.
Please ensure that all hats are kitemarked and carry one of the following - PAS 015, BS EN 1384. This is a minimum standard required by our insurers. Hats will be checked at the tournament.
If a school has only one or two players, then these will be placed into well-balanced teams to compete in the Combined Division for the new NFU Mutual trophy. If you know of anyone who wishes to play in this new section, please contact me on the numbers below.
