Senior Schools Rules and Regulations

Team Managers

SUPA organises tournaments on behalf of schools who make team entries. Schools must ensure that appropriate team managers are appointed who will be responsible for individual players at all times. Managers are responsible for the compliance with SUPA/HPA rules.

Hats

SUPA expects all playing in tournaments to wear a protective helmet that conforms to British Safety Standards and carry a kitemark. Those approved by the pony club and carry a kitemark - PAS 015, ASTM F1163, AS/NZS 3838 1998, Snell E2001 OR EN 1384. These standards are required as these are currently considered to afford the best protection. It is emphasised that hats bearing a QAS (quality assurance symbol), e.g. Kite Mark, SEI or QAS, are batch tested and therefore manufactured to a constant standard. Those manufactured by Charles Owen will comply with our standards and will become mandatory from 2010.

Goggles

Goggles will be mandatory from 2011. SUPA recommend that all players wear goggles.
