Pidgley Foundation enhances support for the SUPA International Polo Festival
PIDGLEY FOUNDATION ENHANCES SUPPORT FOR THE SUPA INTERNATIONAL POLO FESTIVAL AND JUNIOR GOLD CUP
Schools and Universities Polo Association will again stage its “SUPA International Polo Festival” grant-supported by The Pidgley Foundation and founding supporter La Martina, the premier polo supplier, first at Guards Polo Club, July 7 and the final Test Match staged at the home of SUPA polo, Cirencester Park Polo Club, July 11. The Festival finale showcases at one event Britain’s finest young players, men and a woman, in a medley of international polo matches:
• British Internationals v Young West Indies
• SUPA National Champions v SUPA All Stars
• United Kingdom Colts v Britain Colts
• United Kingdom Universities v British Universities
• Coco Boutique Ladies v Roxtons Ladies
Furthering its commitment to youth polo, The Pidgely Foundation join the founding supporters of the SUPA Festival La Martina, Roxtons, Polo Times, and the HPA along with newcomers to SUPA, CoCo’s Boutique at Ascot, Tina-Sparkle.com and Polo del Sol for this unique international polo event in the polo calendar dedicated to the future of youth polo in our schools and universities.
The first Test Match at Guards will be played on the hallowed Dukes Ground followed by prize giving and reception sponsored by Roxtons. The final Test Match at Cirencester, played on Piddington and Meadows Grounds will also concluded with prize giving sponsored by La Martina, Polo Times and Tina-Sparkle.com followed by tea supported by Polonetworks, Lycetts and Polo del Sol.
SUPA institutional members, University/Head Masters/Mistresses, from across the country have been invited to an inclusive day of youth polo which culminates the work of the SUPA selectors to refine its national team selections from a National Trial and series of pre-festival exhibition matches at Kirtlington Polo and Royal Berkshire Polo clubs in anticipation of these international test matches. In April, Desert Palm Polo Club in Dubai hosted a Young English team for a two Test Match Series, including the warm-up match preceding the Dubai Cartier International which was won by the improving UAE team. Young West Indies will debut its Jamaican and Barbadian talent during this two Test Match Series contesting for the SUPA Junior Gold Cup.
SUPA, with over 2,000 players amongst its members, is a not-for-profit organization established to promote and organize youth polo amongst educational institutions within the UK and internationally.
