MESSAGE FROM JANE PHELPS, JUNIOR SCHOOLS MANAGER

Dear Polo Managers, parents, Horse Hirers and other's who enjoyed the SUPA tournament on Sunday!

A huge thank you, to you, and your teams, for making Sunday afternoon a very enjoyable tournament.  We were hugely lucky with the weather - about time! - and the lovely surroundings of Ranelagh Farm. My appreciation too for your tolerance as we tied up all the arrangements!   Congratulations to the winners and I hope  valuable experience gained to those who did not!.  Melissa Bastin, our photographer for the day, took some wonderful pictures so do check them out here:  https://melissabastinphotography.shootproof.com/gallery/6657790 .i

For future planning, it would be helfpul to know when would be best for you to have junior tournaments and please recommend to me clubs that you think would be happy to host SUPA and which would serve us well. We do appreciate that it puts a huge burden on a busy club to make facilities avaialble to us over club members at key playing times but for the future of the sport, we must endourage the next generation of players.  Do you think there are other prep schools who we could interest in forming teams?

I so much enjoyed putting faces to names yesterday and I look forward to seeing you all again.

All good wishes

Jane Phelps

25TH JANUARY 2018 - UPDATE FROM THE HPA REGARDING HELMETS/HATS

As you are aware the HPA have introduced the minimum standard for polo helmets they must be type approved to at least one of the standards PAS015:2011 with CE mark, SNELL E2001, VG1 01.040 2014-12, or UTAC/CRITT 04/2015.

PAS015:1998 is the previous version of PAS015:2011.

Due to extended lead times retailers often carried high stocks of helmets and therefore there are still helmets available that are labelled PAS015:1998.

The HPA will allow the use of helmets that are labelled PAS015:1998.

PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM 1ST JANUARY 2018 SUPA WILL BE ENFORCING THE HPA RULING ON HELMETS www.hpa-polo.co.uk/2018-helmet-regulations/  YOUR INSURANCE WILL BE INVALID AND YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO PLAY IN ANY SUPA TOURNAMENTS IF YOUR HAT DOES NOT MEET THE CRITERIA
