SUPA Senior Schools National Arena Championships

Sunday 6th March 2022

It was a spectacular sight to see so many Senior schools’ players at the SUPA Senior Schools National Arena Championships, held at Rugby Polo Club on Sunday 6th.

Entries flowed in on the new SUPA website www.supa.org.uk .

Keen players who had no school team were placed into SUPA combined teams with other individuals of similar ability.

The established faces returned but it was noticeable that many new players were emerging after the enforced Covid break.

All divisions Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Open fielded strong teams who filled the day with some great play.

22 teams took part, using both arenas for the 36 chukkas.

Thanks go to RJ polo, Black Hound and Polo Times for their continued support.

SUPA Junior Schools National Arena Championships

Sunday, 13th March 2022

The SUPA Junior National Arena Championships returned to Longdole Polo Club Arena for the March 2022 tournament. An amazing entry of 13 teams in the beginner’s division showed how important these events are for the future of grassroots polo. Many new schools were present, introducing a wealth of players new to the sport.

A last minute “short stick shoot-out” decided the winners of two very competitive beginners’ divisions. In the Intermediates, impressive teamwork and skill showed how competitive these young players are, with Hall Grove Tigers coming out the winners.

Throughout the day the clubhouse veranda was full of supportive parents, coaches and siblings all encouraging their teams during the action-packed 33 chukkas.

Thank you, Longdole Polo Academy, RJ Polo, Polo Times and Black Hound, for your continued support.
