Report from Junior Schools National Grass Championships May 2022

Posted: 11th May 2022

Sunday, 8th May saw the first Junior Schools National Grass Championships since May 2019.  We were exceptionally lucky to be able to play on the new pitch at Oxford Polo and cannot thank David Ashby and Hector Worsley enough for allowing us to be the first competitive tournament to be played there.

The sun shone and 11 teams took to the pitch.  Huge congratulations to all the children that took part they all played exceptionally well.  Our sponsors Black Hound Sports provided wonderful prizes and Oxford Polo awarded prizes for MVP (Holly) and the first goal (Charlie) to be scored in their inaugural polo tournament.

There is a misconception that you need to be at a school that plays polo as an activity, this is not the case, and we are here to help put teams together of children who would like to play with their peers, everyone is welcome and we are working hard with the Pony Club and HPA to bring more structure to all tournaments for the U21’s.  If you would like more information about SUPA please visit our website https://www.supa.org.uk/ or contact caroline.grayson@supa.org.uk
